Recycling Reusing

Learning Goals:

The objective of this activity is being able to communicate in an effective way, principles of green economy to the community, using persuasive approaches and captivating storytelling, being able to implement, coordinate and participate actively to projects and initiatives of sustainability in the community

A practical guide to communicating green economy principles effectively to the community, using persuasive approaches and engaging storytelling, while actively promoting participation and collaboration in sustainability projects and initiatives.

Learning objectives

Understand the Principles of Recycling and Reuse.

Describe the basic principles of recycling and reuse.

Explain the importance of reducing waste through recycling and reuse practices.

Identify Recyclable Materials:

Recognize recyclable and non-recyclable materials.

Classify materials according to recycling categories.

Develop Recycling and Reuse Projects.

Create hands-on recycling and reuse projects suitable for the volunteer context.

Plan and implement awareness-raising initiatives on sustainable waste management.

Content / Methodology/Evaluation

Procedure:

  • Introduction: introduction of the activity, socialization of participants
  • Main Content: waste classification
  • Group Activities: participants will be divided into groups of 5 and they will be proposed a list of reusable/recyclable waste and have to design how to give new life in a sustainable way
  • Discussion: group discussion

Methodology: the activity will be developed using the following methodological approaches:

Brainstorming and Group Discussions:

A brainstorming session on volunteer project ideas in the third sector and circular economy will be initiated.

A group discussion will be promoted for participants to share opinions, ideas and projects.

Simulations and Role-Playing:

Participants will be encouraged to simulate real-life situations in which they themselves will assume the roles of volunteers and face typical challenges.

Through role-playing, participants will be made to experience practical scenarios and improve their communication and problem-solving skills.

Evaluation:

Participants will be evaluated through the project they have produced as a group

Material / Tools / Equipment

Paper, pencils, scissors, glue, projector, computers with internet, etc.
