Learning Goals:

- Understand small-scale projects (SSP) management and the importance of proficiency in SSP management ensuring that projects are executed efficiently.

- Understand the role of Small-Scale Projects (SSPs) to develop and promote Circular Economy.

Topic:

- Exploring the principles of circular economy: a comprehensive introduction into the core principles of the circular economy, where waste is minimized, resources are maximized, and sustainability is paramount. - Engage in brainstorming and business planning for Small-Scale Projects in Circular Economy field. Collaborate with peers to generate innovative ideas, refine concepts, and construct robust business plans aimed at maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.

- Evaluation through Group Discussion and Reflection.

Time

120 minutes

Learning objectives

To provide participants with practical experience in designing and implementing small-scale circular economy projects, emphasizing sustainable resource use, waste reduction, and environmental impact mitigation.

Content / Methodology/Evaluation

Procedure: Step-by-step explanation about the implementation of the activity.

  • Introduction (10 minutes)

a. Welcome and overview of the activity's objectives

b. Brief presentation on the principles of circular economy and their importance (Refer to WP2 content).

  • Brainstorming and Idea Generation (30 minutes)

a. Divide participants into small groups (3-4 members per group)

b. Provide examples of small-scale circular economy projects for inspiration (see case studies under WP2)

c. Facilitate a brainstorming session where each group generates project ideas and selects one to pursue.

  • Project Planning (30 minutes)

a. Instruct each group to create a (small-scale) project plan that includes objectives, target audience, materials needed, timeline, and budget

b. Encourage groups to consider the feasibility and sustainability of their chosen projects, and also to consider that the project will be supported by their community

  • Presentation Preparation (15 min)

a. Instruct each group to prepare a short presentation (5-7 minutes) about their project

b. Encourage them to include information on the project's objectives, design process, materials used, and expected environmental impact

  • Session 5: Project Showcase (10 minutes per group)

a. Each group presents their project to the rest of the participants

b. After each presentation, allow time for questions and feedback from the audience

c. Let participants vote to choose one project as the one to be financed by the community.

Evaluation:
